What we do
The Violence Prevention Forum (VPF) bridges the gap between evidence, policy, practice, and resources by bringing people from diverse sectors together to think, plan, share information and knowledge, and build relationships. This facilitates the collaboration needed to prevent violence and build a healthy, healed society.

Our Mission
Our mission is to build relationships, generate, translate, and share evidence and knowledge, and strengthen our collective capacity to prevent violence.

Our ultimate goal?
To use the best knowledge and research evidence to inform interventions to reduce and prevent interpersonal violence on a large scale in South Africa.

Our footprint
We convene Violence Prevention Forums at national and provincial level; and apply our principles of inclusive dialogue at community level.
At national and provincial level, the VPF spans the gap between evidence, policy, practice and resources by bringing people from diverse sectors together, led by multi-sectoral Driver Groups and convened by the Institute for Security Studies.
