Rachel Lehrer engineers prosocial behavior in online gaming spaces and builds digital solutions and programs that scale organizational capacity and impact. She designs and tests experimental solutions to prevent violence, loneliness, and increase human connection.

On 14 November 2024, the World Childhood Foundation convened an event at the United Nations in New York: From Commitment to Action. This was a high-level event on ending violence against children. In these videos Chandré Gould responds to questions posed to her by the UN Special Representative on Violence Against Children, Dr. Najat Maalla M’jid during a panel discussion.

There is a growing body of evidence on what works to prevent and respond effectively to violence against children. But the gap between evidence and action remains large in many cases.

How can we bridge that gap and translate what we know about ending violence against children into law, policy and practice?

Multistakeholder action is critical to ensure children’s protection and wellbeing. The Violence Prevention Forum in South Africa together decision makers, researchers and civil society to scale up evidence-based solutions to end all forms of violence against children.

What lessons can you share from South Africa’s experience on how to strengthen this kind of multistakeholder action at a national level?
